Life on Marz Community Club
Building on the success of its Bridgeport outpost, Marz Community Brewing comes to Chicago's North Side, taking up residence in the same building that houses Margie's Candies ice cream parlor and the Snakes & Lattes board game café. Dubbed the Life on Marz Community Club, the space is a bit smaller than the original Bridgeport taproom, but its decor is as stylish as the art that graces the brewery's various beer cans.
The taproom, announced in 2013, gives Marz an additional presence, a place for direct-to-customer sales and to pick up new beer releases. What makes Marz special is their attention to detail and diehard community spirit, providing a robust lineup of offbeat offerings like their King Kona vs Marzilla imperial stout to complement more traditional staples like The Machine and Bubbly Creek. Led by the indefatigable owner - The Marszewski family, Marz’s 4,000-square-foot tap room features a gallery space and arcade games paired with typically atypical eats served in a beautiful industrial chic space just minutes from Guaranteed Rate Field.
There are 14 taps with core beers like Chug Life, the Miller High Life-inspired larger, and Jungle Boogie, a pale wheat ale with South African tea. Other opening beers include Ame No Uzume (Saison with Japanese sansho peppercorns and Indian coriander) and Marz Instant Oats (a 6-percent ABV stout with notes of fruit and coffee).
