Malacanang Palace: Incredibly Beautiful
It is one of the best places for couples to visit in Manila. The Malacanang Palace, the official residence of the President of the Philippines, is not frequently listed among the top tourist attractions in Manila. Nonetheless, it is an incredibly beautiful place steeped in history, and it is unquestionably one of the best free places to visit in Manila! The Bahay na Bato and Neoclassical styles were used to build the palace in the 18th century. The palace is well-kept, and visitors can learn more about Manila's history by visiting the Presidential Museum and Library.
The palace's grand architecture stands out in San Miguel's residential district. Imelda Marcos, President Ferdinand Marcos's shoe-loving wife, extensively remodeled the palace building and the 40-acre (16-hectare) complex during the 1970s, giving it a more neoclassical feel.
Despite its size, the complex is not a common stop on city tours in Manila. Private guides and custom tour operators are happy to arrange a visit and assist with museum access, but require at least seven days' notice.
