National Aviation University

National Aviation University is a Ukrainian university in Kyiv. It all began in 1933, when the Kyiv Aviation Institute was created on the foundation of the Kyiv Machine-Building Institute's mechanical department. Five institutes, ten faculties, one Aviation Academy (KFA NAU), two lyceums, six colleges, and a Military Training Department make up the university. The institution has its own Culture and Arts Center, Aviation Medical Center, Flight Training Center, Training and Sports Wellness Center, Scientific and Technical Library, and Yacht Club. The State Aviation Museum is also supported by the university.


Approximately 25,000 students attend the university now, including nearly 1,500 international students from 55 countries. Bachelors, masters, candidates, and doctors of science are all educated at NAU. It rose to prominence as the premier training facility for civil aviation specialists. Mechanics, management, electronics, materials science, electrical engineering, computer science, and computer facilities are among the scientific schools of the institution. Academic activities are carried out by a scientific and pedagogical team that includes 15 academicians, corresponding members of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, 184 doctors of sciences, professors, 677 candidates of sciences and senior lecturers, 80 honored Ukrainians in science and engineering, and State prize winners.


Volodymyr Isaienko, Rector of National Aviation University, is a Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Member of Ukraine's Higher School Academy of Sciences, and Ukraine's Honored Education Worker. The university has ratified the Bologna Convention, which allows students to get internationally recognized credentials and facilitate their mobility. Professors and students at the institution collaborate with universities in Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, France, South Korea, and other nations on a global scale. In addition, the university works with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Two ICAO European Regional Training Centers are successfully training and updating aviation workers.
