The National Technical University of Ukraine Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (NTUU KPI) is a public technological university in Kyiv, Ukraine. It is one of Ukraine's oldest and 1st among top the best universities in Ukraine, developing highly qualified workers in a wide range of academic subjects for Ukraine's and other nations' economic and social sectors. Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, often known as Shevchenko University, is a university in Kyiv, Ukraine's capital. The university is widely regarded as Ukraine's most prominent university, as well as the country's largest higher education institution. KNU is one of the world's top 650 universities. There are fifteen faculties (academic departments) and five institutes in its current structure. National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (NaUKMA) is a Ukrainian national research university in Kyiv. The school's forerunner, the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, was founded in 1615. The NaUKMA is located on the grounds of the Academy in the historic Podil district. It was reorganized in 1991, and classes began the following year. According to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, NaUKMA has the highest level of accreditation and is one of the thirteen educational institutions in Ukraine with the status of a research and autonomous university. The European University Association, for example, is one of the many international university collaborations in which NaUKMA participates. The university offers instruction in both Ukrainian and English. It is one of the few universities in Ukraine that offers internationally recognized degrees.

NaUKMA is one of Ukraine's smaller universities, with roughly 4000 students. In the 17th and 18th centuries, alumni of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy played an important part in the intellectual and religious life of Ukraine and Russia. Hetman Ivan Mazepa and philosopher Hryhori Skovoroda were two of the most prominent alumni. In addition, as rector of the Kyiv-Mogila Academy, Theophan Prokopovich expounded on and implemented Peter the Great's Russian Orthodox Church reform. The university is recognized for being pro-Western and for serving as a base of operations for Orange Revolution participants.

The major scientific university in Lviv is Lviv Polytechnic National University. In 2000 Lviv Polytechnic got National University status. 8 July 2009, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on their meeting designated Lviv Polytechnic National University as a self-management research higher educational institution.

Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University is a Ukrainian Kyiv University. The university is owned by the community. The Kyiv Municipal Pedagogical University named after Borys Grinchenko was renamed Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University and its status was altered by a vote of the Kyiv municipal council on October 8, 2009. From a pedagogical profile to a multiprofile traditional educational institution, the university was altered. This allowed it to extend its activities and add new majors, assuring full satisfaction of Kyiv residents' educational needs while also satisfying the needs of Kyiv and the surrounding region. The university's activity in carrying out these responsibilities is focused on obtaining high standards and becoming a European-level institution. Today, this university is one of the best universities in Ukraine.

With about 9,000 students, the university consists of six institutes, four faculties, and one university college. There are 35 operational departments in the company. There are 49 PhDs, 184 EdSs, and 434 instructors on the scientific-pedagogical workforce. Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University provides 10 master's degrees, 12 specialized degrees, and 12 bachelor's degrees. Around 6000 teachers and school principals obtain qualifications and improve their abilities each year at the university. The university offers PhD programs.

National Pedagogical Dragomanov University is a public higher education institution in Ukraine that specializes in teacher training, as well as social work, law, political science, economics, ecology, design, translation, tourism, management, sociology, psychology, and philosophy, among other fields. More than 16.000 students from all across Ukraine, as well as international students, are currently enrolled at National Pedagogical Dragomanov, who are taught by 2.500 teachers, 700 of whom hold a PhD and over 300 are Doctors of Science. The number of international students is increasing every year, rising from 27 in 2005 to more over 500 presently.

The National Pedagogical Dragomanov University has a wide range of collaborations with top universities and research institutes in Germany, Sweden, China, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic, and other countries. National Aviation University is a Ukrainian university in Kyiv. It all began in 1933, when the Kyiv Aviation Institute was created on the foundation of the Kyiv Machine-Building Institute's mechanical department. Five institutes, ten faculties, one Aviation Academy (KFA NAU), two lyceums, six colleges, and a Military Training Department make up the university. The institution has its own Culture and Arts Center, Aviation Medical Center, Flight Training Center, Training and Sports Wellness Center, Scientific and Technical Library, and Yacht Club. The State Aviation Museum is also supported by the university.

Approximately 25,000 students attend the university now, including nearly 1,500 international students from 55 countries. Bachelors, masters, candidates, and doctors of science are all educated at NAU. It rose to prominence as the premier training facility for civil aviation specialists. Mechanics, management, electronics, materials science, electrical engineering, computer science, and computer facilities are among the scientific schools of the institution. Academic activities are carried out by a scientific and pedagogical team that includes 15 academicians, corresponding members of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, 184 doctors of sciences, professors, 677 candidates of sciences and senior lecturers, 80 honored Ukrainians in science and engineering, and State prize winners.

Volodymyr Isaienko, Rector of National Aviation University, is a Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Member of Ukraine's Higher School Academy of Sciences, and Ukraine's Honored Education Worker. The university has ratified the Bologna Convention, which allows students to get internationally recognized credentials and facilitate their mobility. Professors and students at the institution collaborate with universities in Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, France, South Korea, and other nations on a global scale. In addition, the university works with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Two ICAO European Regional Training Centers are successfully training and updating aviation workers.

National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine is one of the country's most prestigious educational, scientific, and cultural organizations. More than 26,000 students, including 600 graduates, PhD students, and jobseekers, attend classes at three educational and research institutes, 13 departments of a basic university institution (in Kyiv), and ten NULES of Ukraine – regional universities with I-accreditation levels.

The V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University was created in November 1804 as the Kharkiv University, thanks to the efforts of notable Ukrainian scholar Vasily Karazin, after whom the university is called. It is one of Eastern Europe's oldest higher education institutions, and Ukraine's second oldest after the University of Lviv. The university now contains 125 departments in 20 schools, as well as an Institute of High Technologies, which includes the Schools of Physics and Technology, Computer Science, and Energy Physics.

The Main Building, the Northern Building, the Central Scientific Building, and the Students' Campus make up the V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. The university also houses three research institutes, a botanical garden, the University History Museum, the Museum of Natural History, and the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography, as well as the University History Museum, the Museum of Natural History, and the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography.

It is Ukraine's only university to have trained and employed three Nobel Laureates. Elie Mechnikov was awarded the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1908, and he completed his four-year degree at V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University in just two years. Between 1932 and 1937, Lev Landau lectured at the institution and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1962. Simon Kuznets, who received the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 1971, was the final Nobel Laureate who attended the university.
