Naver
Naver is a website run by the Naver Corporation in South Korea. It debuted in 1999 as the country's first web site to feature an in-house search engine. In addition, this service pioneered the use of "comprehensive search," which brings together results from multiple search types and displays them all on a single page. Naver has expanded tremendously since its inception, today offering everything from email and news to the pioneering Knowledge iN online Q&A platform.
There were 42 million registered users as of September 2017, when the search engine processed 74.7% of all web searches in South Korea. More than a quarter of a billion Koreans use Naver every day, and over twenty-eight million people use the Naver mobile app.[quote missing] Naver has been called "the Google of South Korea" as well. Naver is challenging Kakao for the top spot in the Japanese web book and web comic markets due to its growing popularity there.
