Webzen is a video game maker and distributor based in South Korea. The parent business and its affiliates are also involved in the worldwide software licensing and associated services industries. On July 7, 2010, Webzen merged with NHN Games, effectively ending both companies. On January 26, 2011, Webzen purchased Ymir Games, making it the new owner of Metin2.

In addition to Archlord 2, the business has released MU: eX 700, the first expansion for MU Online, as well as the Continent of the Ninth (C9): PvP Global Championship and the unprecedented MU World Championship 2011.

The C9 service
was launched worldwide on July 1, 2012. As C9 was released, Webzen also announced the beginning of the C9 and Arctic Combat World Championships, where players from all over the world fight for the title of best in both games. The grand finale took place on November 10 at the G-Star 2012 Expo. Arctic Combat's worldwide launch date was December 6, 2012. Arctic Combat on Steam was also featured. In 2013, this service was discontinued.
