Richtis Waterfall

Richtis waterfall is a fantastic attraction that is located near Lasithi, halfway between Agios Nikolaos and Sitia of Crete. With a tiny river lining the path and, of course, the stunning waterfalls of approximately 15 meters, the small river leads to the wonderful Richtis pebbly beach.

The route to cross the canyon can take up to 4 hours, and it often starts at the 19th-century stone Lachanas traditional bridge, which has old tales engraved on its arch. The major activities it offers are climbing and hiking because the path is quite easy, although being steep at points.

After a strenuous climb, it's nice to cool off in the waterfalls' water, which is present even in the height of summer thanks to the lush flora. You'll pass by some historic watermills along the road as well. Because there are some slick spots on the route, think about taking some sturdy hiking boots or maybe a pair of sneakers. This is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Greece.
