Rigshospitalet (National Hospital) is Denmark's largest and most specialized hospital. The hospital is a 16-story skyscraper, one of the tallest in Copenhagen's downtown district.
The hospital was founded in 1757 and is located in Bredgade, which is currently home to the Museum of Art and Design. The hospital was given over to the state in 1910, relocated to its current location, and renamed Rigshospitalet. It now serves all people of the Kingdom of Denmark.
