Singapore General Hospital (SGH) is the largest tertiary hospital in Singapore, providing comprehensive multi-disciplinary care. It is an academic hospital that integrates clinical care with research and education.
Singapore General Hospital, which was established in1821, is Singapore's oldest and largest hospital. On 31 March 2000, after the Singapore Ministry of Health reorganized regional healthcare services. The SGH is under the management of the Singapore Medical Services organization, also known as SingHealth.
Every year, the SGH Campus caters to over 1 million patients. With a strong workforce, SGH accounts for about a quarter of the total acute hospital beds in the public sector and about one-fifth of acute beds nationwide.
