Royal Holloway, University of London
Royal Holloway was founded in 1879 and became a constituent institution of the University of London in 1900. It is located in Surrey, just outside of the UK capital. The Founder's Building, which was finished in 1881 and was inspired by the Château de Chambord in the Loire Valley, was designed by William Henry Crossland and inspired by the Château de Chambord in the Loire Valley, France.
It is still one of the most spectacular academic structures in the UK, and it has been featured in a number of films and television shows, most recently the iconic Downton Abbey. In the latest QS World University Rankings, Royal Holloway is placed joint 308th in the world.
