Rusizi River National Park

The intriguing Rusizi River National Park is located just outside of Bujumbura. The plains surrounding the river flood on a regular basis, also attracting hundreds of animals to the region in search of his crucial food source.

Hippos are among the area's most prevalent and beloved animals. With its beautiful sky, Rusizi River National Park is a birdwatcher's dream. Sand pipers and plovers are among the uncommon and magnificent migrating birds that visit the park from Asia and Europe.
