Saga Beach
A trip to Burundi's Saga Beach (pronounced sagga) will disprove anyone who believes a country needs a coastline for wonderful beaches. The beach, which is part of Lake Tanganyika's shore, is not a sandy white beach like those found in the Mediterranean, but it is an excellent area to take a swim and enjoy the lake's warm waters.
Since it's only a short distance from the nation's capital, getting to Saga Beach is easy and quick. The greatest time to go to the beach is on the weekend, when the crowds of locals assure a vibrant and enjoyable environment.
