The Kibira National Park
The Kibira National Park is situated between 1,500 and 2,600 meters above sea level. The park, which is mostly covered in ancient rainforest, was originally a holy hunting place for the country's past rulers.
Today, however, Kibira National Park is another of Burundi's protected areas, home to a diverse range of animals. Baboons, chimpanzees, and more than 200 different bird species live in the forest and the rivers and streams that run through it. Tourists frequently visit the park after passing through Teza's huge tea plantations, which are a tourist draw in and of themselves.
