Samarkand State Medical Institute
The Samarkand State Medical Institute is Central Asia's oldest medical institution, providing high-quality training to medical specialists of the greatest caliber. The institute is located in Samarkand, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, which has long been a center of scientific thought and outstanding culture. The Uzbek State Medical Institute was formed by Resolution No. 80 of the Council of Folk's Commissars of Uzbekistan on May 7, 1930, and the Samarkand State Medical Institute was founded by Resolution No. 80 of the Council of Folk's Commissars of Uzbekistan on May 7, 1930. During the Institute's existence, over 40,000 certified specialists were trained and graduated.
Seven hundred and twelve scientists and teachers work at the Samarkand State Medical Institute, 624 of them are full-time. 58 professors, 65 doctors of sciences, 177 doctors of philosophy, and 152 associate professors are among them. The Institute has a strong technological and material base. There are all of the necessary circumstances for students to acquire high-quality medical education, housing, and recreational activities. The development plan, namely, a solid place in the group of higher education institutions-leaders in the training of health professionals, developed on the basis of the best traditions of quality teaching, determines the Institute's stability and prestige.
