Westminster International University in Tashkent
The Westminster International Institution in Tashkent (WIUT) is Uzbekistan's and Central Asia's first international university to offer Western education with UK degrees. WIUT was founded in 2002 as a collaboration between the Presidential Foundation "UMID," Uzbekistan's Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education, and the University of Westminster in London (UoW). WIUT's purpose is to provide international educational standards and research opportunities that benefit the intellectual, social, and professional growth of Central Asian populations as well as the global community.
WIUT offers undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate degree programs. Faculty members at WIUT hold international degrees and have worked in international organizations. Many of our professors have obtained doctorates from prestigious universities in Australia, Belgium, China, the Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Japan, Spain, and the United States.
From 2020 onwards, the University will operate under a new academic administration structure. WIUT now has three schools: School of Business and Economics, School of Law, Technology and Education, and the Graduate School, which offers PhD programs, according to the newly constituted organization. Academic departments with topic areas are found at each institution.
