St. Theodor Tiron Convent
Chisinau is home to the Ciuflea Monastery, commonly known as the St. Theodor Tiron Convent. This Moldovan Orthodox monastery, dedicated to Saint Theodore of Amasea, is a must-see on any Chisinau travel itinerary. It was built in 1858 to mark the outside edge of Chisinau, having been commissioned by a wealthy merchant called Anastase Ciuflea in honor of his departed brother Theodore. If you like religious architecture and wish to witness a picture-perfect Russian church, you should go to the Ciuflea Monastery.
Russian architecture has a particular personality. The stunning blue hue of the buildings makes it incredibly beautiful and worth viewing. Russian architecture is stunning, dramatic, and awe-inspiring due to the onion-shaped domes, the use of vibrant colors on rooftops that sparkle against the light blue sky, and the distinctly old-school style. The interiors are unmistakably Russian Baroque. The monastery is one of Chisinau's most notable examples of Russian Byzantine architecture.
It is close to the city center. This lovely monastery is just a 20-minute walk from Chisinau's city center. As you arrived, there was a woman praying for more than 15 minutes straight from the microphones surrounding the monastery grounds. Women were given cloths to cover their hair at the entry.
