The Cathedral of Christ's Nativity

Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, is known as a green European capital. Chisinau offers many fascinating destinations for tourists and visitors to visit, including as museums and historical and architectural landmarks. The most intriguing are the emples and cathedrals, which each depict a particular period and page of Moldavian history. The Cathedral of Christ's Nativity is the primary cathedral of Moldova's Moldovan Orthodox Church. Its edifice became one of Chisinau's outstanding examples of Russian architecture.

The Cathedral of Christ's Nativity is a magnificent Neoclassical masterpiece. It combines Byzantine and Renaissance elements, as well as Greek themes. Worship was forbidden during the Soviet era, and the cathedral was converted into an exhibition center. It is capped by a beautiful dome, and six columns flank the church's main entrance. The bells on the Bell Tower opposite the temple sound every hour. The Nativity Cathedral was bombed during World War II. Due of the multiple destructions that the cathedral has endured over time, the structure has undergone several restorations and form changes.
