The Ned
The Ned is located in the heart of London's financial district, and Kate Bryan, Soho House's head of collections, has curated a permanent collection in The Vault bar, lounge, and restaurant that challenges the gender inequality prevalent in both the financial and art worlds. The Ned's collection includes works by seven men and 93 women currently working in London, including Annie Kevans, Rachel Whiteread, Phoebe Collings-James, and Phyllida Barlow. 'Having such a ridiculously low number of men in the Vault 100 collection highlights the art world's imbalance better'.
The restaurant has a rooftop space for members with a heated pool, restaurant, two converted domes, and outdoor terraces for eating and drinking. It is also a British classic restaurant and bar in the grand banking hall for Ned's Club Members and Ned Friends Members to enjoy. It serves classic dishes alongside a selection of English sparkling wines, craft ales, and seasonal cocktails. The menu has broccoli & charlotte potato soup, Lancashire bomb cheese, Farmhouse terrine, piccalilli, smoked chicken Caesar, anchovies, twice-baked smoked haddock soufflé, Chopped salad, tuna Niçoise, steak tartare,... Its dessert menu is also attractive, with sustard tart, chantilly cream, steamed lemon sponge, lemon ripple ice cream, summer berry pudding, elderflower, and so on.
