The University of Douala
The University of Douala is a non-profit public higher education institution in Douala. The university integrated the University Centre (Centre Universitaire established in 1977), which was made up of the Ecole Supérieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales (ESSEC established in 1977) and the Ecole Normale d'Enseignement Technique (ENSET established in 1979) and was evolved into a university in 1992.
The institution has about 40.000 students, 600 lecturers, and 600 administrators and collaborators. The University of Douala has six campuses in the city of Douala: Bassa "Cité SIC", Ndogbong, Akwa Nkongsamba, Yabassi, and Logbessou.
The university offers courses in law and politics, business and economics, technical training, medicine, pharmaceutics, industrial engineering, arts, science, humanities, economic sciences and management. The university is a partner of major universities, organizations and associations including AUA Association des Universités Africaines, ACU the Association of Commonwealth Universities, UNESCO the United Nations of Education, and so on.
