University of Desarrollo
The Universidad of Desarrollo (or University for Development/ UDD) is a private Chilean university that is one of the most expensive in the region.
The University of Concepción was formed in 1990 in the home of a well-known family on Trinitarias Street in Concepción.
The first degree awarded was a bachelor's degree in business administration. Architecture, journalism, and a law school were added the next year.
Its main campus was opened in 1993. The following year, industrial engineering and social science programs were established. The university was granted autonomy from Chile's Catholic University in 1997.
América Economía, one of Latin America's most significant business journals, named UDD's MBA faculty top in Latin America. It was also ranked 12th among all Latin American business schools for its MBA program. UDD was also named first in Latin American colleges for promoting entrepreneurial and leadership skills among its students, according to América Economía magazine.
The Medicine School of UDD was placed second in Chile in the national medical test in 2017, outperforming most traditional universities in the country. Furthermore, according to the national CNAP accreditation scheme, UDD is now ranked as Chile's finest private institution, ranking 5th overall.
