Wadi Bani Khalid
Wadi Bani Khalid is one of Oman's most well-known Wadis, famed for its enormous pools of emerald green water surrounded by tall palm trees. If you think that Wadi Bani Khalid is too touristy or that you aren’t sure if you want to make the drive, think again. It is a lovely oasis in the desert that combines "built up and touristic" with isolated and mysterious.
Wadi Bani Khalid offers free parking. After roughly 5 minutes of walking from the parking lot, you will arrive to the first and largest pool in Wadi Bani Khalid. This is the pool that you see in most Muscat vacation images, and it is also the most popular. It is also the biggest and deepest pool in Wadi Bani Khalid.
Wadi Bani Khalid is made up of two sections. The northern section is a leisure area with palm palms, beautiful lakes, and rock faces for picnics and swims, while the southern part (also known as Wadi Hayer) has a rugged terrain ideal for trekking and climbing. It even contains Miqil Cave, which is part of a cave network in the region that leads to a tiny waterfall.
If you wish to stroll along the wonderful walkways that go over the enormous pool/lake, turn left as soon as you reach the Wadi Bani Khalid property. You will be able to go from one side to the other without having to travel all the way around the pool area. Put your feet in the water for a free pedicure, and the fish will chew the dead skin away! It is an odd and ticklish sensation. When people pay money for fish spa treatments in the United States, Europe, and Asia, you can get it done for free in Oman, so you may as well take advantage.
