Waterton Lake
Mountainous Waterton Lake can be found in northern Montana in the United States and southern Alberta in Canada. The lake is made up of two separate bodies of water joined by the Bosporus, as it is known locally. Middle Waterton Lake and Upper Waterton Lake are the names of the two sections. The latter is split in two by the Canada-United States boundary, with about two-thirds of the lake falling in Canada and the remaining third in the United States. Geographically speaking, this UNESCO World Heritage site is remarkable since the mountains abruptly give way to the grasslands.
Numerous pictures have been taken to capture the breathtaking location of the old Prince of Wales Hotel at the bottom of the lake. With towering peaks lining both shorelines, Waterton Lake reaches deep into the highlands.
One of the most popular activities in Waterton is taking a scenic boat tour that highlights the history and geology of the region. Additionally, there is a lot of wind in this region, which makes sailing, kiteboarding, and other water sports popular. Waterton Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in Alberta.
