The story of season 4; After he retires from the military, Yukichi Fukuzawa plans to exploit his lethal swordsmanship as a lone bodyguard for hire. The noble vampire Jean Duchet Godard's wife is assassinated in the comfort of her own home in nineteenth-century France. Godard recruits Tsugaru Shinuchi and Aya Rindou, two private investigators renowned for their expertise in the supernatural, since the local human authorities are hesitant to conduct a thorough investigation. Shinuchi wears an enigmatic birdcage. Originating from distant Japan, this mysterious pair has a one objective: to apprehend the individual responsible for the abduction of Aya's physical form and Tsugaru's humanity.
