Vinland Saga Season 2
Following the loss of his father and the decimation of his hamlet by English raids, Einar longs for a tranquil existence amidst his family's reconstructed farms. His community is once again invaded, though, since fate has other ideas. As the invaders from Denmark destroy his homeland and kill his loved ones, Einar does nothing except watch. The intruders kidnap Einar and return him to Denmark to be used as a slave.
In his last moments, Einar holds on to the words his mother spoke. Ketil, a generous landowner and slave owner, buys him and offers Einar freedom in exchange for labor in the fields. Soon enough, Einar meets Thorfinn, a sad and melancholy slave, who will become his new farming partner. Both Einar's and Thorfinn's previous transgressions and present-day schemes follow them as they strive for independence. Still, they keep going, hoping without hope that there is some kind of atonement or serenity in this unfair and merciless world.
