The 2006 school year finds Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School resonating with the constant sniping and heated arguments of two closest friends who are inseparable. With an air of unwavering self-assurance, Satoru Gojou and Suguru Getou are certain that no task is too formidable for their formidable Special Grade sorcery abilities. The jujutsu world revolves around an entity, and it is their mission to bring a rational girl named Riko Amanai to this entity without harm. The already fragile friendship between sorcerers and commoners is in jeopardy as the mission drags them into a draining moral quagmire.
The increasing number of high-level curses that originate from bad emotions in humans is being combatted by students and sorcerers twelve years later. Entities become more self-aware and ambitious as they gain power. Under the guidance of a sinister, long-forgotten cursed spirit, the curses band together to wipe humanity off the face of the earth and replace them with a race that uses cursed energy exclusively. They plan an attack on Shibuya Station on Halloween to vanquish their biggest enemy, the strongest sorcerer, Gojou. As they form teams, the sorcerers are ready to lay down their lives for the sake of the innocent and their own kind.
