Mushoku Tensei
When Rudeus Greyrat's friendship with Eris Boreas reaches a new level, he is overjoyed. His happiness is fleeting, though, for Eris up and leaves him to go on her own adventure. A broken-hearted and unhappy Rudeus embarks on a journey to the Northern Territories, convinced that Eris no longer cares about him. Rudeus falls into a robotic routine as he continually ruminates on his lost love and wonders if it is worth the anguish to endure through daily life in his solemn quest to find his mother on the huge continent.
One cannot survive in the North with a numb mentality, though, as the perils of the region quickly reveal. After being acquainted with the team Counter Arrow on a quest, Rudeus has a near-death encounter, which motivates him to pull himself out of his depression. Rudeus sets out to fulfill his initial objective of making the most of his second chance at life with the help of his newfound comrades, and he soon rediscovers the joy of daily adventure.
