  1. The University of Melbourne is a public university that was established in 1853. The university has seven campuses spread throughout Melbourne and other parts of Victoria, Australia. The Parkville campus is the main campus, and undergraduate and graduate students can live in one of several nearby residential colleges. Other campuses include Southbank, Burnley, Creswick, Dookie, Shepparton, and Werribee. Tuition costs vary by subject at the University of Melbourne and are higher for international students. Dentistry, veterinary science, and medicine are among the more expensive programs at the university.


    The University of Melbourne, founded by the colony of Victoria, is one of Australia's six sandstone universities and a member of the Group of Eight, Universitas 21, Washington University's McDonnell International Scholars Academy, and the Association of Pacific Rim Universities. It was established in 1850 as Australia's first university and is now regarded as one of the world's top universities. The university is one of six sandstone universities in Australia.   3. The University of Queensland in Australia is a public university that was founded in 1909. It is situated in and around Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, the state capital. The university has three main campuses: St Lucia, where the majority of students study; Gatton, the university's hub for agriculture and veterinary science; and Herston, which houses the school's clinical health facilities.   4. Monash University is a public university that was founded in 1958. It is named after Sir John Monash, an Australian military leader and engineer, and is located in the state of Victoria in southeastern Australia. The Clayton campus, the largest of the university's five Australian locations, is located about 12 miles southeast of Melbourne, Victoria's capital city. Monash University also has a Malaysian branch campus, a graduate school in China run in collaboration with Southeast University, and several other affiliated international sites.

    The Sunway campus's faculties of Arts and Social Sciences, Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Medicine and Health Sciences, Pharmacy, and Science offer a variety of undergraduate degrees. It is a founding member of the Group of Eight, an alliance of Australian research-intensive universities. UNSW is a research university that was founded in 1949 and is ranked 44th in the world in the 2021 QS World University Rankings and 67th in the world in the 2021 Times Higher Education World University Rankings.   8. The University of Western Australia (UWA) is an Australian public research university located in the state of Western Australia. The main campus of the university is in Perth, the state capital, with a secondary campus in Albany and various other facilities located throughout the state. The University of Western Australia was established in 1911 by an act of the Western Australian Parliament and began teaching students two years later. It is Australia's sixth-oldest University and served as the sole university in Western Australia until the establishment of Murdoch University in 1973. Although its origins are said to date back to the 1870s, the university in its current form was established in 1988. The university is regarded as one of the world's leading young universities (under 50 years old), with the 2021 QS World University Rankings Young Universities placing it first in Australia and eleventh in the world.


    In 2020, the university had an enrolment of 46,328 students. 33,816 are undergraduate students, 10,223 postgraduate students and 2,289 doctoral students.   10. Curtin University, formerly the Curtin University of Technology and Western Australian Institute of Technology (WAIT), is a public research university in Bentley, Western Australia. It is named after John Curtin, Prime Minister of Australia from 1941 to 1945, and is Western Australia's largest university, with 57,784 students in 2019.


    Curtin was granted university status in 1986 after legislation was passed by the Western Australian Parliament. Since then, the university's presence has grown to include campuses in Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai, and Mauritius, as well as affiliations with 90 exchange universities in 20 countries.
