Australian National University

In 1946, the Australian National University was established. The main Acton Campus of the public institution is located in Canberra, Australia's capital city. Mount Stromlo Observatory and Siding Spring Observatory, both affiliated with the ANU Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics, are two other university locations. Tuition varies by subject and is typically higher for international students. Undergraduate and graduate students can live on campus; in recent years, more than 20% of the university's student body lived on campus.

The Australian National University is a member of the Group of Eight, the Association of Pacific Rim Universities, the International Alliance of Research Universities, the UNESCO Chairs, the U7 Alliance, the Winter Institute, and the Global Scholars Program. The RG Menzies Scholarship to Harvard University is given to at least one talented Australian who has been admitted to a Harvard graduate school each year. The only two Australian partner universities of Yale University's Fox Fellowship program are ANU and the University of Melbourne. ANU has exchange agreements with Yale University, Brown University, MIT, and Oxford University, as well as research agreements with Harvard University.
