  1. The Royal University of Bhutan was founded to unify the country's tertiary education management. It is the best universities in Bhutan. It's a decentralized university with nine constituent institutions and two affiliated colleges located throughout the kingdom. In the areas of research, student exchange, and internship programs for students and faculty, the university maintains ties with other universities such as the University of New Brunswick in Canada, Naropa University and the School for International Training in the United States, the University of Salzburg in Austria, and the University of Delhi in India.

  2. Under the aegis of Bhutan's Royal University, the college offers undergraduate degrees in a range of areas. Royal Thimphu College has now formed a number of international collaborations, including one with Wheaton College in the United States, which is the alma mater of His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, the Fifth King of Bhutan. The Bhutan Accreditation Council (BAC) awarded the College the highest grade of A+ in 2016, making it the first college in Bhutan to be certified.


    Business studies, social sciences, information technology and mathematics, and humanities are the four major departments at Royal Thimphu College. Royal Thimphu College offers a number of RUB-prescribed majors in one or more of these departments as an affiliated college of the Royal University of Bhutan. The business department has the greatest number of students. Other departments initially exclusively offered double majors, however in the subjects of English studies and environmental management, single major degrees have recently been created.

  3. College of Science & Technology, located in Rinchending, Phuntsholing, Bhutan, is an engineering college affiliated with the Royal University of Bhutan. It provides undergraduate and graduate programs. Bachelor's degrees in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology Engineering, and Architecture, as well as a Master of Engineering in Renewable Energy, are all available at the college. It was the sole institution in Bhutan that offered undergraduate engineering education as of 2011.


    Soccer (football) and basketball are the most popular sports at the institute. The college football field is always packed with fans of the game. The students are recognized for their collaboration during sporting events, where they all dress in uniform and cheer for their respective teams in tournaments. Other sports that the students participate in include badminton and table tennis.


    The majority of teachers and students live on campus. The student body controls the daily meals. Six residential buildings for students and others for lecturers are available. A road runs through the residential area and connects it to the academic buildings.

The Royal Institute of Management (RIM), the country's apex management training institute, has been charged with "imparting, promoting, and improving professional knowledge and skills in management and public administration in both the public and private sectors in the country" in order to help us achieve our national goal. It is in 1st best universities in Bhutan. The institute was founded in 1986 and organized as an autonomous institute under the Royal Charter in 1990. It is governed by a Board of Directors.


    Royal Institute of Management has been entirely focused on assisting the country's human resource development needs, particularly for the civil service, as the only Government management Institute. RIM's contribution to the development of national human resource capability was mostly in the form of training, research, and consulting.

  5. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forests founded the College of Natural Resources in 1992 to train Extension Agents. The training approach is based on the Bhutanese farming system, in which crops, cattle, and forests are all important components of rural existence.


    The policy of developing the Renewable Natural Resources (RNR) sector was evaluated by the then Ministry of Agriculture in the late 1980s. Integration of training programs from other ministries under the Ministry of Agriculture was one of the most important outcomes of the evaluation. With funding from the Swiss Development Corporation (SDC), Helvetas, and the Royal Government of Bhutan, the National Agriculture Training Institute in Paro, the Royal Veterinary Institute in Serbithang, and the Bhutan Forestry Institute in Taba were merged, and the Natural Resources Training Institute (now known as the College of Natural Resources) was established at Lobesa.

Paro College of Education (PCE) is one of the constituent colleges of the Royal University of Bhutan, and is located in the scenic valley of Paro in western Bhutan, around 2,250 meters above sea level. The college is within a 10-minute drive from Paro International Airport and roughly an hour from Thimphu, Bhutan's capital.


    In November 1975, PCE opened its doors as a Pre-school Care Training Center. For pre-service and in-service teacher candidates, the college now provides a wide choice of diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate programs. Master of Education in Educational Leadership & Management; Post Graduate Diploma in Education (Dzongkha); Bachelor of Primary Education; Bachelor of Secondary Education; Bachelor of Education (Dzongkha); and Diploma in School Leadership & Management are the six programs now available. In 2014, the college will offer a PhD degree in GNH education.


    The college maintains a research center, the Centre for Educational Research and Development (CERD), which was founded in 2001 with the goal of supporting, encouraging, and cultivating a culture of research and scholarship that leads to improvements in the country's educational programs and practices. CERD publishes Rabsel, a journal, as well as a number of special articles.

  7. Sherubtse Institution, created in 1966 by a group of Jesuits led by William Mackey, was Bhutan's first accredited college. The institution was converted to a Junior College in 1976, providing pre-university science programmes. Arts and business courses were offered in 1978. Father Gerald E. Leclaire S.J. was the inaugural principal of Sherubtse College, which became an affiliated college of the Delhi University system in India in July 1983. A number of Jesuits from Canada taught English and Science.


    In 2003, it became a part of the Royal University of Bhutan, a system that includes all of Bhutan's public post-secondary schools.


    Sherubtse College is in the Trashigang district of east Bhutan, in Kanglung. The college campus is huge and sprawling. The Yongphulla domestic airport is only 10 minutes away from Sherubtse College.

The Royal Bhutan Polytechnic (RBP), which is one of the best universities in Bhutan, formerly known as the Jigme Namgyel Engineering College (JNEC), is one of the constituent colleges of the Royal University of Bhutan. It was founded in 1972, coinciding with the country's third five-year economic expansion. It is located in the west end of Dewathang town, at an elevation of 800 meters above sea level. The institute lies 18 kilometers from Samdrup Jongkhar, the second entrance to Bhutan from India, in Eastern Bhutan. Although it began with infrastructure development in 1972, it began offering engineering diploma programs on February 22, 1974.


    At the outset of its development, it offered diploma-level civil and electrical engineering programs. The Mechanical Engineering course was first offered in 1988. It also provided certificate courses in surveying and drafting in the early 1970s. However, beginning in the late 1980s, surveying and drafting courses were no longer offered.


    The Jigme Namgyel Engineering College aims to become a Center of Excellence in providing diploma and degree level programs in applied engineering and technology, covering a wide range of programs such as pre-service, in-service, continuing education, material testing and certification, applied engineering research, consultancy, and community services through various modes of delivery, including distance learning.


    The Royal Bhutan Polytechnic was the only institute of its sort until the early 2000s, responsible for educating and supplying professionally competent, ethically sound, and progressive middle level technical manpower and IT specialists relevant to Bhutanese employing agencies and industries. The institute was temporarily relocated to the erstwhile Royal Technical Campus in Rinchending Phuntsholing in the year 2000. In 2001, while at Rinchending, the Institute launched a bachelor's degree program in civil and electrical engineering. College of Science and Technology is the current name of this institute.

  9. The Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan was created in 2013 by an Act of Parliament to govern and oversee medical and health science education and training. There are three constituent faculties within the University—the Faculty of Postgraduate Medicine, the Faculty of Nursing and Public Health, and the Faculty of Traditional Medicine—as well as three affiliated private nursing colleagues who offer 34 different programs in medicine, nursing, allied health, and traditional medicine to nearly 1000 students. Thimphu, Bhutan's capital city, is home to the university. Its teaching hospital is Jigme Dorji National Referral Hospital. The President is the University's leader. A Dean oversees the faculties.


    The Faculty of Nursing and Public Health was founded in 1974 as the Health School under the Department of Health, with the purpose of training primary health care providers. The School was upgraded to the Royal Institute of Health Sciences in 1989 and was under the Royal University of Bhutan, the first university in Bhutan, which was created in 2003, as Nursing and Allied Health programs were offered. When the KGUMSB was founded in 2013, the institute was moved to it.


    The Faculty of Nursing, Public Health, and Allied Health Sciences of the FNPH offers three-year diploma and four-year bachelor's degree programs in nursing, public health, and allied health sciences (Medical Technicians). More than 3000 health professionals have graduated from it, and they now work in hospitals and Primary Health Centers across the country. They are, without a doubt, the backbone of the health-care delivery system, reaching 95% of the population.
