Assiut University

Assiut University, which was established in 1957, was Upper Egypt's first university and is located around 375 kilometers south of Cairo. It is one of Egypt's most prestigious universities.

Students can study at the faculties of science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, commerce, education, law, physical education, nursing, education, social work, arts, computers and information, or dentistry, or at the South Egypt Cancer Institute, technical institute of nursing, or Sugar Technology Research Institute, which consists of 16 faculties and three institutes.

Bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, PhDs, and associate degrees are taught in Arabic, English, French, or German. It has two campuses, one in Assiut and one in New Valley. On-campus amenities include a workout center, library, and student health center.

Assiut University is linked with various institutions, including a children's hospital, a women's health hospital, a urology and neurology specialist hospital, a liver hospital, and a neurology and psychiatry hospital.

The university's emblem is a coat of arms encircling a sun disc, which represents Ancient Egypt. To honor the Arab era, Assiut University's name is written in standard Kufi script.

Assiut City, the capital of the Assiut province, has a population of roughly 380,000 people and its international airport. It is one of the world's oldest cities, with traces of culture, industry, and the arts reaching back to 4000 BC. The province is largely semi-desert, with scorching summers and chilly winters, and it is noted for its fertile terrain and abundant biodiversity.
