British University in Egypt
The British University in Egypt (BUE) was established as a result of a Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the governments of the United Kingdom and Egypt in 1998. It was hoped that such a facility would generate graduates of UK caliber for critical sectors of the Egyptian economy, including engineering, computer science, and business studies.
The academic team is made up of highly trained British, Egyptian, and foreign scholars who have worked in the British higher education system. BUE is not merely an educational institution, but also an academic, social, and cultural hub with plenty to offer students of all ages, nationalities, and socioeconomic backgrounds. The institution operates within the framework of the UK Quality Assurance Agency and offers degrees in a manner and to a standard comparable to UK programs.
BUE, Queen Margaret University (QMU), and London South Bank University (LSBU) have formalized their collaboration, with the two universities validating BUE's undergraduate programs. BUE is already securely established and well-positioned to create a global reputation for high-quality teaching and research.
