Zagazig University
Zagazig University is another famous university in Egypt. It was founded in 1970, contributing to Egypt's rebirth and global place in education. It originated as a branch of Ain Shams University and was Egypt's sixth university. It has agricultural, trade, veterinary medicine, human medical, education, and scientific colleges.
Its goal is to become a renowned Egyptian Public University, and it has plans to construct and expand to a Centre for Graduate Studies and Research in Oboor City.
Zagazig University grants bachelor's and master's degrees and diplomas to students and has faculties in the following fields: electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, architecture, computer engineering, engineering, accounting, business management, economics, statistics, veterinary science, pharmacy, education, agriculture and forestry.
The Archaeological Museum of the Zagazig University houses important finds from the adjacent sites of Bubastis (Tell Basta) and Kufur Nigm.
Salama Moussa, a well-known Coptic Egyptian journalist, philosopher, and social critic, was born in the city of Zagazig.
