Atwood Lake

East central Ohio's Tuscarawas and Carroll counties are home to the reservoir known as Atwood Lake. Atwood Lake is a premier lake for all types of activity, including chances for kayaking, geocaching, boating, swimming, and fishing. The lake has a sandy beach with concession stands and picnic shelters. The lake features coves up Elliott Run, Willow Run, and two unnamed streams along Bark Road and Ohio State Route 542, in addition to the Indian Fork.

The lake is surrounded by hiking trails, and a nature and activity center offers daily activities for families. Another well-liked activity at Atwood Lake is fishing for bass, crappie, bluegill, and saugeye along its 28 miles of shoreline.

Camping or staying in one of the park's cottages are popular ways to enjoy Atwood Lake. You may even decide to base yourself in Cleveland or Akron and take a day trip to the lake as both of those cities are only a short drive away. Numerous incredible unique occasions, such as the Alive Music Festival, the Atwood Area Fall Festival, and Tearstock, are held at Atwood Lake Park.
