Salt Fork Lake
Salt Fork Lake has been around since 1956 when planning for the reservoir started. The lake's original purpose was to provide water to Cambridge, a nearby city, but due to the high demand for recreational uses, it was converted to a state park in 1960. In the hills of southeast Ohio, the lake has grown to become one of the most well-liked watering holes.
Guernsey County's rural scenery resembles a patchwork of forested hills, open meadows, and foggy valleys that are connected by numerous streams. Salt Fork State Park, which includes the woodlands and fields bordering Salt Fork Reservoir, lies near the center of this area. Salt Fork State Park, Ohio's largest state park, offers recreational options for almost every preference.
The roughly 3,000-acre lake has a designated ski area and welcomes boats with unlimited horsepower. Eight boat ramps and two marinas with petrol, docks, and supplies are available at Salt Fork Lake. Anglers frequently visit Salt Fork Lake. According to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, the lake features perfect environments for muskies and fish between 30 and 40 inches. It is one of the best lakes to visit in Ohio.
