Chippewa Lake
Chippewa Lake, one of the biggest inland natural lakes in Ohio, was formed around 14,000 years ago as enormous glacial ice sheets melted as they moved north. Chippewa Lake has a long history of human habitation going back thousands of years when Native Americans visited the fertile wetlands and lakeshores to hunt and trade.
Chippewa Lake, which is one of Ohio's most stunning natural lakes, is found in Medina County in the state's northern region. There is a lot of Ohio history associated with the lake. Native Americans originally lived in the state, and it was once formed by ice sheets melting roughly 14,000 years ago.
The Lake Chippewa Amusement Park, which was situated in the region and ran there for more than 100 years before closing in the 1970s, was also there. Today, those looking for a peaceful lake to spend the day on the water enjoy Chippewa Lake as swimmers and boaters.
Near Westfield Landing Road, there is a boat launch for the 325-acre lake as well as a lovely picnic shelter. For excursions throughout the year, rooms at the Krabill Lodge near the lake can be rented.
