Atyrau Oil and Gas University named after S. Utebaev is an industry higher educational institution of the Republic of Kazakhstan for training personnel for the oil and gas industry of the country and a scientific and educational center of the Western region. Atyrau University of Oil and Gas was founded in 1978 and is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the big town of Atyrau.


Atyrau Oil and Gas University (AOGU) is a medium-sized (with 7,000-7,999 students) coeducational higher education institution that is officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
