Nazarbayev University
Nazarbayev Institution (NU) is a self-governing research university in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan's capital. It is an English-medium institution with an international faculty and staff, and was founded in 2010 (June) on the initiative of Kazakhstan's first President, Nursultan Nazarbayev.
The NU Center for Preparatory Studies offers a one-year rigorous foundation education for Nazarbayev University bachelor's degree programs. The curriculum provides extensive academic, scientific, and linguistic competency preparation for Nazarbayev University's undergraduate programs. This program offers education through the "Nazarbayev University" governmental grant as well as tuition-based education.
One of Nazarbayev University's strategic goals is to establish a major research university that will produce top-tier scientists, researchers, leaders, and entrepreneurs for Kazakhstan and the rest of the globe. Nur-Sultan University aspires to be a model for higher education reform and modern research in Kazakhstan, as well as an international research and innovation hub. Internal research initiatives, sponsored funds, and national and international awards provide funding for research. Every faculty member is expected to be a world-class teacher as well as a world-class researcher.
