It is based on Julia Quinn's books, which are set in the competitive world of Regency-era London's ton during the season of debutantes. The plot follows Daphne Bridgerton, the eldest daughter of the powerful Bridgerton family as she makes her debut onto Regency London's competitive marriage market.
