The King's Affection

The South Korean television series The King's Affection is based on Lee So-young's manhwa Yeonmo, which sets the birth of the protagonist in 1461. It aired on KBS2 every Monday and Tuesday at 21:30 (KST) for 20 episodes from October 11 to December 14, 2021.

The story takes place during the Joseon Dynasty when twins were thought to be a bad omen. As a result, when the Crown Princess Consort has twins, the daughter is commanded to be killed. She is secretly sent out of the castle to save her. Dam-Yi, the twin daughter, returns to the palace a few years later to work as a maid. When Lee Hwi, the male twin, dies as a result of mistaken identity, their mother, who recognizes her daughter as court maid Dam-Yi, convinces her to take Lee Hwi's place. Despite her attempts to distance herself from everyone, Yi Hwi (Dami) begins to develop affection for Jung Ji-Woon, her first love and later teacher from an aristocratic family.
