The Last Kingdom

The Last Kingdom is a British historical fiction television series based on Bernard Cornwell's series of novels The Saxon Stories. It first aired on BBC America and BBC Two in 2015, and then on Netflix in 2018.

The year is 866, and the advent of the Great Heathen Army in Britain is about to change the Viking-Anglo-Saxon entire relationship. The episode primarily concentrates on the Kingdom of Wessex's resistance to continued Viking raids into Southern England after the foundation of Danish control in Jórvk and East Anglia. The story covers about 40–45 years by the end of season 4. Season 1 takes place between 866 and 878, season 2 between 878 and 886, season 3 between 893 and 900, and season 4 between 901 and 912.
