Mindhunter
Joe Penhall's Mindhunter is an American psychological crime thriller television series based on John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker's true-crime book Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit, published in 1995. The series follows the establishment of the FBI's Behavioral Science Unit in the late 1970s, as well as the emergence of criminal profiling.
On October 13, 2017, Netflix released the first season, which consisted of ten episodes. Netflix launched the second season on August 16, 2019. Netflix reported in January 2020 that a third season was on hold indefinitely due to Fincher's desire to explore other projects, but that he may "revisit [the series] in the future."
