Dream High (2011)

Suzy's breakthrough part and acting debut came with Dream High. This music-themed adolescent drama followed the highs and lows of sex-obsessed teenagers at Kirin High School, a school well-known for turning out K-pop artists. Suzy portrays Go Hye Mi, a classical musician with aspirations of enrolling in New York City's famed Juilliard School for the Performing Arts. Her family had to pay off her father's debts, therefore that dream had to be put on wait, so she now attends Kirin High. Despite her brilliance, Hye Mi's cold appearance and arrogant attitude frequently worked against her.

Fans of K-pop will like this 16-part series because it also features other real-life K-pop celebrities, such as IU, Ok Taec Yeon, and Jang Woo Young from the boy band 2 PM. It was expected that this would result in a mini-concert given the presence of so many K-pop superstars in a single show.

Suzy's performance wasn't overlooked as she and her on-screen love interest Kim Soo Hyun won Best Couple and Best New Actress at the KBS Drama Awards. This drama has been a fan favorite for a very long time because of its sympathetic characters and their compelling drive to achieve their goals.
