Franklin Castle
Franklin Castle, located at 4308 Franklin Boulevard in Cleveland's Ohio City neighborhood, is a Victorian stone house built in the American Queen Anne style for Hannes Tiedemann, a prosperous German immigrant. The structure has four stories, over twenty rooms, and eighty windows. This is by far the cheapest haunted house on this list of the most expensive haunted houses, but it is nonetheless iconic. It is said to be Ohio's most haunted house.
Emma Tiedemann, Tiedemann's fifteen-year-old daughter, died of diabetes on January 15, 1881. Soon after, Tiedemann's elderly mother, Wiebeka, died, bringing the property to its second death. The Tiedemanns would bury three more children over the next three years, sparking speculation that there was more to the deaths. Rumors of Tiedemann's crimes (including pedophile and murder) in the house have contributed to Franklin Castle's reputation as a haunted house.
It is currently being considered for conversion into a bed and breakfast.
