Inglourious Basterds
Inglourious Basterds is a 2009 war film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. The movie follows two schemes to kill Nazi Germany's leadership, one planned by Shosanna Dreyfus (Laurent), a young French Jewish theater owner, and the other planned by the British but carried out completely by a group of Jewish American troops commanded by First Lieutenant Aldo Raine (Pitt).
Inglourious Basterds grossed over $321 million in theaters worldwide, making it Tarantino's highest-grossing film until Django Unchained (2012) and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood surpassed it in the box office (2019). The reception to the film was quite positive. Some critics condemned the historical liberties taken, while others applauded the performances and Tarantino's writing and directing. It also received several awards and nominations, including eight Academy Award nominations (including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay)
