Unbroken

Unbroken is a 2014 American war film written by the Coen brothers, Richard LaGravenese, and William Nicholson. It is based on Laura Hillenbrand's nonfiction book Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption, published in 2010. The film follows the story of Louis Zamperini, an Olympic athlete who enlisted in the military during WWII. After an aircraft accident in the Pacific, he was seized by the Japanese navy. Louie must continue his battle by surviving the conflict when he is being held captive.

From October 2013 to February 2014, filming took place in Australia. Unbroken had its world premiere in Sydney on November 17, 2014, and its London premiere on November 26, 2014, at the Odeon Leicester Square. It was a financial success, making $163 million throughout the world. Unbroken: Path to Redemption, a sequel to the film, was released in 2018.
