The Forgotten Battle

The Forgotten Battle (Dutch: De Slag om de Schelde) is a 2020 Dutch World War II film directed by Matthijs van Heijningen Jr. and based on the 1944 Battle of the Scheldt. The story is set in 1944, during World War II. The Battle of the Schelde included a British glider pilot, a Dutch kid fighting on the German side, and a Dutch female resistance member. Their choices are different, but they all want the same thing: freedom.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the film received a perfect score of 100 percent based on seven reviews with an average rating of 8.1/10. "Do not skip this one!" one reviewer advised, adding that "The Forgotten Battle is a tightly wound war film that works," and that the film "covers a World War II combat that did not make it to the mainstream conversation."
