Iolani Palace
The former residence of King Kalakaua and his sister Queen Liliuokalani, 'Iolani Palace is the only royal palace in America. In what is now Honolulu's downtown, King Kalakaua ordered its construction in 1882.
This location may have been the location of an old seat of worship before King Kamehameha III made it his official residence in 1845, although its past has since faded into antiquity. The graves of various Hawaiian kings and other notable individuals are also located on the palace grounds. It is one of the most amazing castles in America and visits can be taken by appointment.
