Le Crocodile

Le Crocodile, a neighborhood brasserie run by chef partners Jake Leiber and Aidan O'Neal (of the renowned Greenpoint restaurant Chez Ma Tante), is situated in Williamsburg's Wythe Hotel. It serves sincere French cuisine in a setting that draws inspiration from favorite Parisian and New York spots. For parties of up to 12, reservations may be made 28 days in advance in either the indoor Main Dining Room or the outdoor Sidewalk Café. Every day of the week, Le Crocodile is open for dinner, lunch, and weekend brunch.


The traditional French bistro fare, such as creme brulee, frisee salads, and leeks vinaigrette, don't feel out of date here. The interior decoration also fails: The room is lit by natural light, is enclosed by high timber ceilings, and is peppered with tropical plants rather than smoky antique mirrors and tarnished metal railings. If Le Crocodile wasn't located inside the Wythe hotel, it might be challenging to identify it as a hotel restaurant.
