Mount Mtelo
With a height of 3,336 meters, Mount Mtelo is Kenya's fifth highest mountain. Mount Mtelo (Sekerr) is Kenya's fifth tallest mountain (3,336m/10,944 ft) and is located in West Pokot County's North West highlands, some 120 km north of Kitale Town.
Mount Mtelo is said to be a holy mountain and the Pokot people's cradle. It is a sacred worship site for the local community that lives in the neighborhood of the mountain. The climb requires no particular equipment or training, and numerous pathways lead to the campground and peak, going through Pokot farmed regions, forest, bamboo, and open moorland, with expansive views of eastern Uganda and north-west Kenya on a clear day. According to oral traditions, the mountain is regarded as sacred since it is described as the cradle of pastoral Pokot. Black-and-white colobus monkeys, tiny antelope, three turaco species, and ten sunbird species live atop Mount Mtelo.
