Mount Satima
Mount Satima ranks third on the list of the highest mountains in Kenya. Mount Satima, at 4,001 meters above sea level, is the highest point in the Aberdare mountain ranges. It is also a part of the water catchment region for the Ndakaini and Sasumua Dams, which are Nairobi's principal supplies of water. In fact, for millions of Nairobi inhabitants, the Ndakaini dam is their primary supply of water. Mount Satima, also known as Mount Lesatima and commonly referred to as Satima or Lesatima, is Kenya's third highest peak and the tallest in the Aberdare Range.
Mount Satima is a rocky outcropping with tussock vegetation. The mountain is known for its rainforest, which transitions into a bamboo forest, and finally into Moorland. There are around 150 plant species on Mount Satima, including cedar and Podo. The mountain is part of the Aberdare Range's protected area.
